SON—020: HOW TO KILL YOUR SISTER

In the new tragicomic series How To Kill Your Sister, from writing duo Evelien Broekaert and Pedro Elias and director Jonas Geirnaert, everything revolves around two sisters and a coffin. The creators take us on a road trip filled with humor, suspense, and mystery – a delightful dive into the microcosm of family relationships.

After eight years of radio silence, Anna suddenly appears at the doorstep of her older sister Kat. On the roof of her car: a coffin. Who it's for? Only Anna knows… And so begins a hilarious road trip, doomed to derail.

In addition to a stellar cast, music has become a key character in telling the story. The series boasts a unique musical identity, blending existing songs with an original score written by Meskerem Mees & Pieter Van Dessel.

  • To me, music in a series isn’t just a sauce poured over the dish at the last minute — it’s an integral part of the recipe. Especially when the story is a road trip, a setting that begs for the right soundtrack. I’m proud and incredibly grateful for what Meskerem and Pieter have created — their music truly gave the story wings

    Jonas Geirnaert - Director

  • It’s the first time Meskerem and Pieter worked together in the studio — with a surprising result. The combination struck us as unique. You’ll hear experimentation with vocals, percussion, guitars, and strings.

Meskerem Mees & Pieter Van Dessel:

The spontaneous jams we had — especially in the early days of the project — were magical. We never sent files back and forth. Instead, we sat together, watching scenes and drawing inspiration on the spot. That organic, playful process naturally made its way into the music. A joyful, successful collaboration that’s reflected in the final result.
